So my latest project is a little more ambitious than usual.

I’m not modding games consoles or 3D printing functional pieces of hardware.

I’ve started a new website; more specifically an Indie Gaming focused website that will feature news, reviews, previews and opinion pieces on everything happening in the industry.

I’ve been playing and championing indie games for years; it seemed only fitting that I make a go of creating a viable outlet for my writing and content creation.

At the moment it’s just a one-man band; I guess that’s always been my style (much like many of the Game Devs I write about), but I am always on the lookout for people who may want to contribute. There’s no money involved; there probably never will be – this is more of a pet project than a commercial endeavour – although it should hopefully afford opportunities to network with Indie Developers and play some great games.

I have created all the associated social media links (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Twitch, etc) and I am also looking to branch out into more modern channels of content creation, like podcasting (I guess I need to find the yin to my yang before that can happen, as solo podcasts seldom last longer than a few episodes).

My first executive decision as Editor-in-Chief/Owner/Dogsbody of indieVerse, is to arrange a visit to the EGX:Rezzed expo at The Tobacco Dock in London next month. This is a major event in the indie gaming calendar and the biggest gaming event in London, running from the 4th to the 6th April. I can hopefully get to play some exclusive upcoming games, meet some of my favourite developers and make some new connections, as well as garner plenty of material for the blog. I’m also trying to synchronise my visit with the BAFTA Game Awards happening on Thursday 4th April. It’s always been an ambition to attend this award ceremony (I watch the live stream every year and always enjoy Dara Ó Briain’s hosting prowess).

Anyway, I’m hoping this jaunt to The Big Smoke next month will provide a renewed sense of vigour and plenty of things to write about.

If you have any appetite for contributing to the site, let me know!
